Brazilian football star Kaka has alleged that the South American country’s football legend, Ronaldo Nazario, gets disrespectful treatment from his compatriots who just see him as a “fat man”.
Ronaldo got a place in history books as an iconic striker after helping Brazil win the World Cup in 1994 and 2002. He also enjoyed successful spells at Barcelona, Inter, and Real Madrid.
However, after putting on weight at the end of his football career, many media and fans poked fun at him for his change in shape over the years.
Criticizing the treatment the Brazilian team and Neymar are receiving in his country and also the way idols like Ronaldo are treated during an interview with BeIN Sport, Kaka said;
“It’s strange to say this, but many Brazilians don’t support Brazil. It happens sometimes. If you see Ronaldo walking around here, you’ll be like: ‘Wow’, he has something different here. In Brazil, he’s just a fat man walking down the street. Of course, many Brazilians love Ronaldo, I love Ronaldo, but the way he is respected in Brazil and abroad is different, I see more respect for him outside the country than there.”
